MIXED MAYHEM!

A Mixed-Doubles Team League

Skill Level: Intermediate - High Intermediate

Sign-Ups: 

• Participants are encouraged to sign up with a mixed doubles partner. When signing up, type your partners name in the comments section 
• You may also sign as an individual. The pairing will be first come, first serve. The first female to sign up as an individual will be partnered with the first male. Signing up as an individual does not guarantee admittance. There must be a partner of the opposite gender to pair you with. 

Schedule: 

• Week 1: Friday, May 31st 5:30pm - 8:00pm
• Week 2: Friday, June 7th 7:30pm - 10:00pm
• Week 3: Friday, June 14th 5:30pm - 8:00pm
• Week 4: Friday, June 21st 5:30pm - 8:00pm
• Week 5: Friday, June 28th 5:30pm - 8:00pm

NEW TWIST ON LEAGUE PLAY: 

• There will be 4 total teams consisting of 4 mixed doubles pairings on each team (8 players per team). 
• All four teams will play against each other every week (3 rounds of play per week). 
• Each round consists of Group Play and Team Play. Every group round will include 1 standard game straight to 15. After Group Play, teams merge onto one court to play in the TEAM FRENZY- which is a full-team match straight to 21, rally scoring. Pairings will play 4 points at a time and the team will rotate every 4 points until someone reaches 21. 

Teams:

• Four Total Teams - You will come up with a Team name prior to the start of the league
• Each team has 8 players. 4 men and 4 women
• Proshot will set the team rosters prior to the start of league play to make the 4 teams as evenly matched as possible
• Each player will be assigned a number to start the league

Week 1

-Male 1 / Female 1 (Group A)

-Male 2 / Female 2 (Group B)

-Male 3 / Female 3 (Group C)

-Male 4 / Female 4 (Group D)

For weeks 2, 3 and 4, pairings will be shuffled so you may play with a different partner and against different opponents. 

Week 5-Playoffs and Finals: Original Pairings

Nightly Schedule:

Round 1: Team 1 vs Team 2 | Team 3 vs Team 4

Round 2: Team 1 vs Team 3 | Team 2 vs Team 4

Round 3: Team 1 vs Team 4 | Team 2 vs Team 3 

TEAM FRENZY:

This is played similar to a dreambreaker at MLP. You will play 1 game to 21 with RALLY SCORING. 

While a Dreambreaker is a singles format where each individual team member comes on and plays for 4 points until a team hits 21, this will be played with your doubles partner. You will not switch sides after each point, meaning if you start on the left side, you stay on the left side even if you score a point. There is a point on every serve whether you’re on offense or defense. Group A will play for 4 points, followed by B, then C, and then D. You will keep this rotation until a team reaches 21 points

How Your Team Wins a Round:

There are 4 points awarded during Group play and 1 point for the FRENZY. For example: In Round 1, your Group A and Group D won, your Group C and Group B lost. Then, you won the FRENZY. Your team went 3-2 in Round 1 meaning you won the matchup and are 1-0 as a team.

Overall Record:

You play 3 teams each night. If you won 2 and lost 1, your team record is 2-1 heading into Week 2. 

Week 5: Playoffs and Finals

After 4 weeks, we will look at the league standings to set the matchups. 

Semi-Finals: 

The team in 1st place will play the team in 4th place. 

The team in 2nd place will play the team in 3rd place. 

Finals:

The teams who won their semi-finals match will play for GOLD

The teams who lost will play for BRONZE

PRIZE FOR GOLD:

Each member of the winning team will receive $40 in club credits

SUBS:

In the event you can’t make a league night, you must arrange for a substitute. The sub will be approved by Proshot and must be reasonably close to your skill level.
